OPERATING RULES & PROCEDURES FOR ALL AIRCRAFT & PILOTS  

AIRCRAFT APPROACHING / LANDING

• Keep SHARP LOOKOUT for aircraft flying in the immediate vicinity of Grootfontein & Goedverwagt [the airfields are only 1.5nm of each other]
• Frequency 124.8 – always listen out before transmitting
• Be sure to call approaching GOEDVERWAGHT - always ensure you specify if landing or taking off at Grootfontein or Goedverwaght to avoid any misunderstanding
• Do not overfly either airfield at low level en-route to / from the East (Fisantekraal) or the West (Contermans)
• Join overhead at 1200’ AGL when approaching from any direction outside a 5nm radius of the airfield. Only LEFTHAND circuits to be flown
• Call LEFT DOWNWIND RUNWAY 02 (NORTH) or LEFT DOWNWIND RUNWAY 20 (SOUTH)
• Call FINAL RUNWAY 02 (NORTH) or RUNWAY 20 (SOUTH)
• Keep well clear of Goedverwacht Radio Station on South Western side at all times
• Final turns closest possible overhead threshold of Runway 20
• Land and vacate runway immediately and taxi to parking area [North Eastern Side]
• Shutdown engines as soon as possible to avoid injury or damage to other aircraft
• Do not leave aircraft unattended until properly secured and ignitions are OFF
• Secure all Ballistic chutes with lock & key & remove ignition keys

AIRCRAFT TAKING OFF / DEPARTING

• Call BACKTRACKING RUNWAY 20 or 02 when taxying on the runway to respective holding points.
• Be sure to call taking off GOEDVERWAGHT and intentions if departing circuit
• Aircraft taking off to make all turns to the LEFT - turn before or overhead Runway 20 threshold. Do not climb out and turn overhead Goedverwacht Radio Station
• If en-route Fisantekraal, depart NORTH and climb before turning towards Fisantekraal
• Do not overfly Grootfontein at low level en-route to Fisantekraal

• Restrain children and animals when near any aircraft in the areas indicated
• Do not approach any aircraft from the rear – stand well clear of propellers at all times
• Do not proceed onto runway by car or on foot at anytime
• Access limited to members and invited guests only
• Hanger restricted to resident aircraft & owners only
